What's behind the belly button can impact function & behavior by structural compromise to organs, blood vessel masses, and other self-regulatory structures. Babies that struggle with self-soothing, digestive ease, fussiness, and other challenges to becoming peacefully calm......may have some remnants of tissue strains left from the umbilical cord. Pulled, wrapped, torqued, or cut too soon can cause tissues to be restricted into intestines, stomach, liver, and blood vessel masses in the tummy. Self-regulation helps keep Baby from being grumpy, colicy, and unable to relax.

Every component of the human body is suspended and wrapped with connective tissue (fascia). Fascia has sensory (reactive) qualities and tightens up in moments of stress. Fascia is a shock absorber for both physical and emotional stressors. The umbilical cord being pulled or yanked in utero can be one source of stress into the belly organs.

Bodywork for Babies helps therapists navigate the fascia terrain around all the strutures in the tummy and the rib cage. @ith non-invasive therapies such as craniosacral, lympho-fascia , acupressure, and visceral listening methods Bodywork can quickly help a baby self-correct from irritable and colicky to a state of bliss and ready to engage.
